THE RESTORATION HAS BEGUN.
Common Challenges To The Sacred ( Saving ) Name Answered.
If a person told you his name, would you argue with him about it? Would you tell him, "No, I don’t think so. I’ll call you something else instead"? Of course not, that would be absurd! You have no right to do such a thing and you would certainly not make him too happy if you did.
Yet when it comes to the personal Name of the Father in Heaven, many believe that they have the prerogative to decide what they will call the One they worship. They will go to great lengths to avoid using the revealed Name of the Heavenly Father, Yahweh. The most creative mental gymnastics are performed in an effort to justify the continued use of common titles over the personal Name Yahweh, which the Bible says is a name above every name.
In an effort to quiet their consciences, some will argue, "He has many names." Many will rationalize, "He knows who I mean no matter what I call Him," while others will postulate, "His ‘name’ just means His authority." Anyone looking into this important matter from the Scriptures, however, soon discovers that Yahweh Himself rejects all of these arguments, as well as other common assumptions about His Name.
A simple examination of the Scriptures shows that the issue of Yahweh’s Name is of paramount importance to Him -- just as your name is important to you. He thunders, " I am YAHWEH: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images," Isaiah 42:8. The Hebrew original of this passage contains the Tetragrammaton YHWH, or Yahweh.
Yahweh is resolute about His Name. He is adamant that His people call on Him by the only Name that ensures salvation. The New Testament Book of Acts tells us, "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved," Acts 4:12.
He even wrote the Third Commandment specifically to address the neglect of His Name: " Thou shalt not take the name of Yahweh thy Elohim in vain; for Yahweh will not hold him guiltless that takes his name in vain." The Hebrew behind that commandment says " bring to deso--lation and ruin," which is exactly what will happen if you substitute other names and titles for the one true Name.
Following are the most familiar arguments given to justify the use of substitute titles like " God " and " Lord " in place of the true Name Yahweh. We will examine each in light of the Bible to see whether they have any validity.
( He has many names.) He Does?
This is one of the most popular justifications advanced to avoid using the Name Yahweh. If He has many names then it is implied that no single name stands out as His one, special, personal Name. Or in other words, He has many names but no name. The problem with this argument is the failure to recognize that generic titles are not names.
Take "Mr. Sam Jones," for instance. " Mister " is not the name of "Sam Jones." Mister is only a title for him. Sam Jones cannot sign a document with only the word "Mister" and expect anyone to accept it as his authentic endorsement. One is a generic term that applies to any man, the other is his real name.
("" The same goes for the various descriptive titles for Yahweh that some erroneously think are names, like eloah ("mighty one"), el shaddai ("the all--powerful") and adon/adonai ("sovereign"). Others are confused by attributions that are sometimes used in connection with His Name, like Yahweh-Yireh ("Yahweh provides"), Yahweh-Zidkenu ("Yahweh our righteousness") and Yahweh-Rapha ("Yahweh our healer"). )
Regardless of certain titles and attributions, He still has only one Name -- Yahweh. He inspired the prophet Isaiah in 42:8 to write, " I am YAHWEH: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images." Psalm 83:18 confirms that He has but one Name: "That men may know that thou, whose name alone is YAHWEH, art the most high over all the earth." Nowhere in the pages of the Bible can we find a statement saying He has many names. But we can find many passages attesting to His one true Name.
( He knows who I mean no matter what I choose to call Him.")( He Does? )
You cannot find such a statement expressed or implied anywhere in the Bible. Nowhere are we given the right to rename our Heavenly Father. To bestow a name is the sole prerogative of a superior, as when a parent names his child and as when Adam named the animals under his dominion. Since when does the one created have the right to address his Creator by any name he pleases?
To use this argument for the One who made us is the height of insolence and is utterly offensive to Yahweh. Notice His warning about such obstinacy: "If you will not hear, and if you will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, says Yahweh of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because you do not lay it to heart." Yahweh’s Name is bound up in proper worship and in Psalm 68:4 He commands His people to praise Him by His Name. John 4:24 reminds us, "Yahweh is Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." To deliberately ignore the Truth of His Name in favor of what pleases us as His worshipers is nothing less than vain arrogance deserving of rebuke. We cannot reverse the flow of authority --Yahweh our Creator tells us how to worship Him, not the other way around. Even beyond this, His knowing "who you mean" makes no difference to Him if you refuse to honor and glorify Him as He demands, which includes using the right Name. His Name represents Him and His truths, something no other name does.
( The pronunciation of the Name has been lost and we don’t know how His Name was spoken.)
( Besides being false, this argument amounts to no more than an excuse -- that because of supposed uncertainty we should not even try to pronounce His Name. The fact is, the Name is given us in the Hebrew in the form of the Tetragrammaton or "four letters," which is YHWH (Yod, Hay, Waw, Hay). Jewish scribes went to great lengths to ensure the accuracy of this Name in the Hebrew, while the Masoretes or text guardians vowel-pointed the Hebrew letters to preserve the pronunciation. "")
It is not true that the pronunciation of the Hebrew Name was lost. If it were then the pronunciation of the entire Hebrew Old Testament was lost as well. It would also mean that in the passing-down process of the Hebrew tongue from one generation to another, that at some point all Jews suddenly woke up and forgot how to speak their own language! If we can read the Old Testament out loud in the Hebrew, then we can also read the Name Yahweh accurately in the same Hebrew. Today the Jews read Hebrew every Sabbath in their synagogues. They have no problem pronouncing it.
("" Here is what the noted Encyclopaedia Judaica says about this issue: "The true pronunciation of the name YHWH was never lost. Several early Greek writers of the Christian Church testify that the name was pronounced ‘Yahweh.’ This is confirmed, at least for the vowels of the first syllable of the name, by the shorter form Yah, which is sometimes used in poetry (e.g., Ex. 15:2) and the --yahu or --yah that serves as the final syllable in very many Hebrew names," Vol. 7, p. 680."")
("" The Encyclopaedia Britannica comments: "Early Christian writers, such as Clement of Alexandria in the 2nd century, had used the form Yahweh, thus this pronunciation of the Tetragrammaton was never really lost. Greek transcriptions also indicated that YHWH should be pronounced Yahweh," 15th Edition, Vol. X, p. 786."")
("" The Catholic Encyclopedia notes: "The saying of God, ‘I am who I am,’ is surely connected with His name that is written in the Hebrew consonantal text as Yhwh, the original pronunciation of which is well attested as Yahweh," 1967, Vol. 5, p. 743."")
( But there are no vowels in the Hebrew so how can we know how to pronounce the four letters of YHWH correctly? ) They Ask?
Vowels do exist in Hebrew, as in all languages, or else it would be impossible to speak Hebrew. Vowels are spoken via the open mouth, while consonants are spoken by closure of the lips or by tongue contact on teeth or palate. Old Testament Hebrew is composed of words written in consonants with the vowels understood.
( "" As noted, the Masoretes in the seventh century inserted vowel points or marks in and around the Hebrew letters to preserve the correct pronunciation. Just as with our letter "Y," there are some Hebrew letters that serve as both consonants and vowels. Amazingly, all four letters of Yahweh’s Name are such consonant-vowels. This fact can be verified in most Hebrew grammars, including A Beginner’s Handbook to Biblical Hebrew (Horowitz), p. 7 under "Vowel Letters"; The Berlitz Self-Teacher, p. 73 under "The Vanishing Dots"; Hebrew Primer and Grammar (Fagnani and Davidson) p. 10, under "The Quiescents and Mappiq," and How the Hebrew Language Grew (Horowitz), p. 28."")
( "" First-century priest and historian Falvius Josephus writes about the sacred Name that was engraved on the headpiece of the high priest (Ex. 28:36-38): "A mitre also of fine linen encompassed his head, which was tied by a blue riband, about which there was another golden crown, in which was engraven the sacred name [of Yahweh]; it consists of four vowels," Wars of the Jews, Book 5, chapter 5, p. 556."")
( When the Bible speaks of His name it just means His authority, not His literal name.) They Say?
It is true that to do or say something in someone’s name can mean by the authority of that person. But that is only a small part of the meaning of Yahweh’s name in His Word. Through the Hebrew verb of existence, haYah, the Name Yahweh defines the very nature, character, and essence of Yahweh. His Name means to cause to be. To claim that references to His name refer only to His authority is incongruous in many important passages. To drive home the point, we have changed the word "name" to "authority" in the following verses. See whether each still makes proper sense:
"Who has ascended up into heaven, or descended? who has gathered the wind in his fists? who has bound the waters in a garment? who has established all the ends of the earth? what is his [authority]and what is his son’s ( authority ), if you can tell?" Prov. 30:4
"That men may know that thou, whose ( authority ) alone is YAHWEH, art the most high over all the earth." Ps. 83:18
"Sing unto Elohim, sing praises to his ( authority ) extol him that rides upon the heavens by his ( authority ) YAH, and rejoice before him." Ps. 68:4
"Seek him that makes the seven stars and Orion;Yahweh is his ( authority )." Amos 5:8
"And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his ( authority )Yahshua: for he shall save his people from their sins." Matthew 1:21 "
Once we realize that Yahweh has a personal, life-giving, healing, covenant Name only through which we can find salvation, to continue calling on an inanimate, generic title to provide the same blessings that His Name gives is an affront to Him and His character.
( I speak English, not Hebrew, so I use the English ‘God and ‘Lord.’) They Say ?
("" One problem here is that these are not names but common titles that can apply to any number of mighty ones or even less than mighty ones. Another problem with this statement is that "God" is not English at all but Germanic from the word gott. A "lord" is someone subordinate to a king. "Lord" derives from Old English hlafweard meaning "loaf keeper," a person who headed a feudal estate under a king.Yahweh is King of the universe, and so to address Him with a diminutive title like Lord is a dishonor. "" )
("" Lord is also related etymologically to Bel, a pagan deity. As one source notes, "In late Babylonian times the title Bel, ‘Lord,’ became synonymous with Marduk, who like Ishtar assimilated to himself various aspects of other gods," Babylon, by Joan Oates, p. 172. The Companion Bible note on Isaiah 46:1 says, "Bel. Abbreviation of Baal=Lord. Here=Zeus, or Jupiter of the Greek and Roman mythology." Neither is the term "god" free of heathen trappings. Paul wrote that there are "gods many and lords many," 1Corinthians 8:5. One root of "god" means to pour as in a molten image (Oxford English Dictionary). No wonder idols are known as gods. "")
( How can we justify using such terms when calling on the only true Father in Heaven, and His Son, Yahshua the Messiah? The language you speak has nothing to do with the Name of the one you worship, because His Name doesn’t change from language to language (Consider that there is no English form for the French name Napoleon and neither is there a German or Russian version for the English name Churchill. Specific names transcend language. They are transliterated, not translated)).
( I have had prayers answered using ‘God’ and ‘Lord’ so it must be okay to use those titles.) They Say ?
Yahshua said that even an evil person won’t give his son a stone when he cries out for bread (Matt. 7:9). Each one who seeks the Truth of Yahweh first does so with a certain lack of understanding. If Yahweh let our ignorance get in the way of our heart’s desire to seek Him, then we would soon become discouraged and give up our quest.
After more truth is revealed to us, however, then we become accountable to make the proper changes in our lives and toward True Worship. "And the times of this ignorance Yahweh winked at; but now commands all men everywhere to repent," Acts 17:30. Our true walk must start somewhere, and if calling on Him through common titles is all we know, then Yahweh will show compassion and toleration.
But as He gives us more knowledge and Truth, He expects us to walk in all the light we are given. Paul wrote, "For you were sometimes darkness, but now are you light in the Master: walk as children of light," Ephesians 5:8. Yahshua said, "Not every one that says unto me, ‘Rabbi, Rabbi’ shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven," Mattthew 7:21.
The truth of His Name has been revealed to you and it is now your responsibility to use that knowledge to begin to honor Him by calling on His revealed, personal Name. See Psalm 34:3, 68:4 and 1Kings 8:35. He reminds us repeatedly that His people are called by His Name, 2Chronicles 7:14, Daniel 9:19 and Ephesians 3:14-15.
His Name is central to True Worship. We cannot say we truly know Him if we don’t know and call on His Name.

Was the true Messiah born a Hebrew From The Tribe of Judah ? Or, was He as asked below ?
Was the Savior Greek?
Why is a Hebrew Called by a Greek Name?
Suppose a new Bible translation had the second chapter of Matthew begin like this: "Now when Yahshua the Messiah was born at Athens Grecia in the days of Alexander the Great, behold there came wise men from the east to Olympia, Saying, ‘Where is He that is born king of the Greeks? for we have seen His star in the east, and are come to worship Him. When Alexander had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Olympia with him.’"
If you read such a translation you would be troubled, too. "My Bible says the Savior was Hebrew, born of the tribe of Judah at Bethlehem!" you would say. "That translation is wrong! The Greeks were pagans. He wasn’t Greek nor was he born among Greeks." You would be absolutely right. Now let’s look at this passage as it appears in the King James Version: "Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is bom King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him."
Now the facts are right, expressing the Hebrew heritage and birth of our Savior. But one problem remains. "Jesus" is a Greek name. It is as out of place in the setting of Hebrew Israel as the Hebrew Savior would be if born in Greece --to be king of the Greeks.
Yahshua the Hebrew
Our Savior was a Hebrew, born of a Jewish mother. He had a Hebrew family. He spoke Hebrew, lived the Hebrew culture, kept and taught Hebrew laws, had Hebrew followers, and quoted from the Hebrew Scriptures. So what is He doing in our Bibles with a Latinized-Anglicized-Greek name? And why, being a Hebrew, is He referred to by the purely Greek title "Christos" rather than the Hebrew "Mashiyach" ("Messiah")? One might argue, that’s because ours is an English Bible, not a Hebrew one.
If that is true, then why is the Greek "Christ" and its possessive "Christ’s" found 570 times in our ENGLISH Bibles, while the original, Hebrew-rooted "Messiah" appears a mere four times? Others may say, well, this just shows that the New Testament was originally inspired in the Greek. Not true, and we can cite myriads of reasons that the New Testament was written in Hebrew or perhaps Aramaic. But that still does not explain why the Greek title Christ, meaning "anointed," remains untranslated in our ENGLISH versions.
Hebrews Loathed Greek Culture
Was the New Testament written in Greek? Consider. The Jews of the Savior's day spoke Hebrew (or some say its sister language Aramaic). They held nothing but animosity for the heathen Greeks and the Hellenization policy of the Seleucid rulers. Why would the Jewish Apostles be writing in Greek under these circumstances and social tensions? What average Jew could or would want to read Greek writings (even if the Apostles could write Greek, which most could not)? Some Alexandrian Jews had resettled in Judea and did speak Aramaic.
Josephus, the eminent first-century Hebrew priest and historian who said he far exceeded the average Jew in learning when he wrote, "I cannot pronounce Greek with sufficient exactness..." ( Antiquities of the Jews, 20:11:1 ). If this eminent priest and scholar could not speak Greek, how could most of the common Jews in Judea?
Yahshua sent the l2 Disciples "not to the Gentiles ( Greeks included ), but to the lost sheep of the house of Israel," Matthew 10:6. Obviously, these Hebrew Disciples writing for Israelites wrote in Hebrew --so the average Hebrew would understand. To think they would be writing in Hebrew but inserting Greek substitute names for the Father and Son is absurd. On the contrary. They would use the personal Names first revealed from On High to the Hebrew patriarchs in the Hebrew language long before the Greek language even existed! (see Gen. 4:1, 26)
The Case for ’Yahshua’
That the Heavenly Father’s personal, revealed, covenant Name is Yahweh is widely known and recognized in religious circles. But how do we know that the Savior’s Name is Yahshua? First, the "J" did not exist in any language until about the 15th century common era (A.D.). This eliminates both "Jehovah" and "Jesus." Second, Yahshua said He came in His Father’s Name, John 5:43. YAHweh and YAHshua both bear the family name "Yah." The Name Yah-shua means "Yah’s salvation." Third, Yahshua was a Jew, a descendant of the Hebrews. He would no more have a Greek name than a German would have a Chinese name.

How To Know Your Heavenly Father Yahweh.
"Do you have a personal relationship with the L-rd?" the evangelist shouts to a packed auditorium. "Do you know Him, I mean really know Him?" Heads nod excitedly in affirmation. Many in the audience reach skyward, and with eyes closed cry an emotional, "I’m saved. Thank you J-sus!" The choir sings, "Saved by the Blood" as dozens whisk down to answer the altar call. Outside, ushers pass out tracts while buzzing, "Are you saved? He loves you."
Most are familiar with this scene, either firsthand or from television. But few understand the Biblical truth about "knowing" Him. That which constitutes a "personal relationship" according to the Bible is far removed from such superficiality. And how can we be so sure we are "saved," when even the Apostle Paul admitted he could easily compromise his own salvation through misconduct? (1Cor. 9:27).
We need to get past the tired clich and spoon--fed indoctrinations and delve into the heart of the issue of knowing Yahweh, focusing solely on the Scriptures for our instruction.
Today’s Backward Approach to Yahweh
Most approach this subject in reverse. Rather than looking for what Yahweh can do for us, we must first come to grips with what He expects from us, His creation. The teaching of the Scriptures is that if we don’t please Him by our lives then we cannot have a close relationship with Him, which means salvation is out of the question until we do. Paul calls it being "strangers from the covenants of promise," Ephesians 2:12.
The key to enjoying a close bond with the Father Yahweh is found in what He expected from Israel, the one and only people with whom He made a personal covenant. In the precise terms of that covenant relationship, He stressed what Israel had to do in order to be His special people: obey and be blessed; disobey and be cursed, Deuteronomy 28.
Israel became Yahweh’s chosen through a promised commitment, just as one does through the marital vow. Similarly, He told Israel, "I am married unto you," Jeremiah 3:14. Israel entered a personal relationship through a covenant agreement in Exodus 24. Yahweh said, "Do this and I will be your Elohim and you will be my people."
Their promise to do all that Yahweh commanded in His law "and be obedient" sealed this covenant and brought them into a relationship with Yahweh unknown by any other nation or people. He in turn would be all they needed of Him: their Deliverer, Protector, Healer, Provider and Salvation.
The covenant agreement Israel entered is the only avenue revealed to mankind by which we can "connect" with Yahweh and know Him. Just as a bride takes on her husband’s name, Israel was known by the One to whom they were spiritually married and worshiped. "Your people are called by your Name," the prophet Daniel wrote in 9:19.
Through doing what He required, Israel knew well who Yahweh was and exactly what He expected of them. What bride would marry someone she knows nothing about?
Not only did Israel know and call on the personal Name of their "Husband," but Israel also knew what pleased Him, as well as the conditions establishing their marriage. It boiled down to obedience or " what must I do to deserve and receive His blessing?" When they obeyed, they were blessed. When they disobeyed, they were punished.
Yahweh’s bride ultimately chose to break the covenant she had made by ignoring Yahweh’s laws and worshiping the deities of the nations, Jeremiah 3:8. Yahweh called it adultery and He separated from Israel.
No-law Teachings and Charges of Legalism
Now the question becomes, did Yahweh give up on making any more covenants with mankind? Does He now come into a personal relationship with anyone who simply professes to know Him while attending large, religious "crusades"? Does a proper day-to-day walk and specific way of worship no longer matter for us today as it once did with Israel?
A majority assume just that, believing that personal behavior is irrelevant for salvation, and that Yahweh will save us in spite of ourselves. Not so, according to Yahshua’s words about his coming judgment in Luke13:27: "But he ( the Savior ) shall say I know you not whence you are; depart from me, all you workers of iniquity." Yahweh will consider strangers anyone who does not do as He commands. Iniquity is lawlessness.
Many decades of endless onslaught against Yahweh’s law from pulpits everywhere have conditioned most people to think there must be something wrong with the law. The knee-jerk reaction against those who seek to obey their Heavenly Father with all their hearts is the accusation of "legalism." There is little the Evil One could have wanted more than to have the masses believe that there is something inherently wrong with obeying the Heavenly Father Yahweh. He convinced Adam and Eve to disobey, and he has been working the same ploy ever since. His successes have been overwhelming in our day because of the spiritual and moral decay and liberal attitude of the times.
The prophet Isaiah predicted exactly what we are seeing: "O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths," Isaiah 3:12.
Paul said his mission was to be an instrument for Messiah to "make the Gentiles obedient by word and deed," Romans 15:18. We find that those who walk in the light of obedience will be cleansed from all sin, 1John 1:7. Yahweh’s people in the New Testament are called people of the way precisely because they walk in a prescribed way of obedience to Yahweh (Acts 9:2; 18:25-26; 19:9, 23; 22:4; 24:14 and 22).
A Renewed Covenant
Following the death of Yahshua the Messiah (who was the Mighty One in the Old Testament who interacted with Israel), Yahweh was free to marry another. That old marriage covenant was dissolved by Yahshua’s death. The new bride, potentially you and me, consists of the ones who have entered a "personal relationship" with Him through a new Covenant. That new Covenant is explained in Hebrews 8:10: "For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith Yahweh; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a mighty one, and they shall be to me a people."( See also Jer.31:33; Heb.10:16) His laws are now put within us.
When a woman remarries upon the death of her husband, she makes new vows to be faithful to the new husband. Similarly, when a husband remarries through the death of his wife, he expects his new wife to make the same promise of commitment and faithfulness made in his prior union. Yahweh is taking another Israelite bride, you and me. He as our "Husband" has not changed, Malachi 3:6. Therefore, the same vows of obedience and faithfulness are intact and in force. It is the New Testament Assembly that must fit into the covenant with Yahweh now, Ephesians 5:31-32.
Yahweh defines faithfulness through a commitment to keeping His laws. "I delight to do your will, O my Elohim: yes, your law is within my heart," Psalm 40:8. The writer of Acts makes this crystal clear: "This is he, that was in the assembly in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us." "Lively oracles" refers to the sacred utterances Yahweh gave to Moses in the law. That law included not just the Ten Commandments, but all the applicable law.
Exodus 34 is a recap of the giving of the law on Sinai. Yahweh proclaims His Name to Moses, and Moses uses His Name, verse 9. Then Yahweh details the terms of the covenant or "marriage vows," terms that include His Feast days (vv. 18-23). Observing of His Feasts is a marriage obligation under both covenants, Hebrews 8:8-13. Israel agrees to adhere to those commands.
We found in Hebrews 8 that the law is at the core of the New Covenant as well. The basic marriage terms are the same, but the bride includes others. To know and love Him is to keep His commandments, 1John 2:3; 5:3. Yahweh still demands fidelity and obedience from His bride. Before the feminist movement, marriage vows for the bride included the words, "love cherish and obey."
The New Covenant is the Old Covenant renewed, not thrown out. Paul explains in 2Corinthians 3:6, "Who also has made us ministers of the new testament (Greek diatheke, covenant). Notice that "new" in this verse is the Greek kainos, which means "renewed." If Paul had meant brand new the word neos would have been used.
Today, the New Covenant is a revitalized Old Covenant, where Yahweh’s laws are placed in our hearts, to become a part of us. One exception is that because Yahshua became our sacrifice offering once for all (Heb. 10:10), we no longer sacrifice animals.
You cannot know Yahweh unless you obey Him, learning how He thinks and discovering what is important to Him by doing what He asks of you. Yahshua said, "For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother." We are joined to Him when we call on and accept His personal Name, just as a bride takes on the personal name of her husband.
Study Yahweh’s Word. Let Him guide you in all truth. Then, become His bride by your faithfulness to Him and through the only Name that holds salvation.

Churchianity’s Great Divide
Compare the following two worship events.
It’s the seventh day of the week. Dressed in simple attire an unassuming young man sits by the seashore speaking to a small gathering. A gust of wind wafts the pungent aroma of fish and seaweed over the crowd. The teacher paints one vivid picture after another in stories that teach about sin, repentance, and the coming Kingdom. He talks of obedience and warns of wickedness and evil that could destroy His listeners’ faith.
He quotes liberally from the Old Testament and explains that he has not come to bring peace and harmony to this world but by special calling to make a separation of His people by the sword of the Word.
He is provocative, His words are penetrating and his straight-to-the-heart style enraptures His audience. His amazing insights bring to the surface the deepest thoughts, motives, and guilt of His listeners. They are cut to the quick. They hang on His every word and many share a burning and repentant desire hence-forth to live by the truth He teaches.
We switch now to a different teacher at another place and time.
It’s morning on the first day of the week. A black-robed man with chevrons on his sleeves and sporting a pricey necklace dangling a shiny silver cross steps up to a richly carved oak podium. The walls of his sanctuary are decorated with ornate fish symbols, crosses, and Greek letters on wide, velvet banners. Behind him on a polished altar burn two tiers of tall white candles. Rainbows of light shoot through colorfully painted windows.
A red-robed choir stands ready, waiting for their cue to present a chorus of J.S. Bach accompanied by a huge, melodious pipe organ. The audience rises from their cushioned pews to echo the minister’s chants, after which he stretches out his arms and motions them to sit in unison.
His stained-glass voice speaks of grace and acceptance of all faiths as just different routes to heaven. He tells his listeners to think positive thoughts and to love themselves or else they cannot love others. After quoting part of a verse in Galatians about the need to reject Scriptural law, he tops off his 15-minute message with a story of a 7-year-old child who loses a pet turtle.
The choir sings a final selection and the audience quickly files out, satisfied that they fulfilled their spiritual duty for another week and eager to enjoy the rest of the day at the mall or head to the local links to play 18 holes.
A Forgotten Message
Here are two modes of worship, both purporting to teach truth but both at polar opposites.
The first by our Savior is firmly planted in the Word and is riveting, life-changing, and relevant for all ages. The other is a blend of pop psychology and trendy clich focusing exclusively on increasing the listener’s own prosperity and self-fulfillment. Yahshua is missing from this message; the real focus is on self. People are urged to look within; to try to understand themselves; to come to grips with their problems, their hurts, their disap-pointments; to have their needs met, their desires granted, their wants fulfilled.
If they could be transported back 2,000 years to stand on the seashore and listen to the Messiah Yahshua teach, most churchgoers today would be too uncomfortable to linger long. His style and messsage are out of vogue, so how could they possibly have any truth?
But the real reason for rejection is more serious: Yahshua’s teachings of repentance, obedience, sacrificing self, and permanent change in personal behavior is offensive to a culture obsessed with self-fulfillment, self-achievement, and self-worship free of all restraints. And so He and His Word have gone AWOL from today’s pulpits.
The powers that be in churchianity are so completely focused on whatever works to bring in more members and money that they fear any Bible-based message that might work counter to this goal. Like making a stand for truth and risk losing friends and family.
Fearing what they themselves might discover, most worshipers today are unwilling to take their Bible out of their dresser drawer and see what it actually says. If they did they would quickly realize that what millions take for granted as right religious instruction is totally foreign to the teachings of the Scriptures.
Missing Foundation, Twisted Truth
How many have stopped to consider that the Savior was not a Christian but a Hebrew, a Jew? He based His teachings on truths from the Old Testament which was the only Scriptures in existence at the time He walked this earth.
Christianity sprang from Israelite worship. That means its roots are deeply established in the Old Testament. This simple fact is a thinly veiled secret in today’s denominations that have sought for centuries to separate themselves from anything “Jewish” or “Old Testament.”
But facts are facts and the proof is convicting. Consider this: because modern worship actually sprang from Old Testament worship, churches still have “altars” as did ancient Israel. It is the reason churches continue to take up “offerings,” just as Israel took their offerings each day to the tabernacle or temple.
Because it grew out of Judaism, Christianity still gives lip service, at least, to keeping one day of the week “holy,” just as Judah and Israel kept holy the seventh-day Sabbath as the Word commands.
The weekly communion service is a carryover from Israel’s Passover, with its body and blood symbols. The word “Easter” in the KJV of Acts 12:4 mistranslates the Greek Pascha and the Old Testament Hebrew Pesach or Passover.
Worship areas of churches are known as “sanctuaries,” a throwback to the holy place in the Tabernacle and Temple. Music in the modern church service sprang from the Old Testament practice of singing Psalms, most of which King David wrote and set to music.
Church terms like “father,” “elder,” “priest,” and “shepherd” trace directly to the Old Testament. Similarly, “amen,” “halleluyah,” “Sabbath,” and other designations used in the modern worship service come untranslated right from the Hebrew. Many other terms used from time to time in churches today are pure Hebrew, too, like: abba, Satan, mammon, maranatha, raca, cummin, shekel, jubilee, corban, and hosanna.
Wrongly Dividing the Word
Despite these and other similarities with Old Testament practice and teaching, to advocate seriously using the Old Testament as the basis of Biblical truth would get you quickly ushered out the door of most churches today.
Through centuries of conditioning, the average Bible believer has been led to the false notion that the Old Testament and its system of worship, laws, and principles for living are dead. Its books are considered irrelevant. This is the same conditioning that would make today’s churchgoer uncomfortable gathering at a seashore for a worship service. It is just not what most are accustomed to.
It has been drilled into most churchgoers that the Old Testament’s 39 books have no significance today. Never mind that the Apostles and the Savior Himself quoted from, taught from, referred to, and based their teachings on Old Testament Scriptures. Never mind that the Old Testament continues to be published alongside the New in every Bible version coming off the modern press. Could it be that Yahweh has preserved His entire Word for a very important reason?
Suppose you were given a two-part novel to read. How much of it would you understand if you were told to skip Part One and go directly to Part Two?
Without solid grounding in the knowledge that the New Testament has Hebraic roots, that Christianity grew out of Judaism (nearly every one of the early converts was a Jew), and that the promises were given only to Israel (others are grafted in, Rom. 9 and 11), you would be open to manifold errors and even blinded to the basic Biblical message. This is the state nominal worship finds itself in. It has lost its moorings as well as its direction because it has left the fundamental teachings of the Word.
Without a firm footing in Yahweh’s law and commandments the modern church is powerless to confront today’s sin. Televangelists can talk forever about realizing your self-potential and seeking “what G-d wants for you” and because they ignore the Word , they get swept right into the cesspool along with the culture.
For today’s church to condemn society’s murder, stealing, lying, adultery, and every other rampant sin while simultaneously teaching against Biblical law is hypocrisy. If it insists on continuing to compete with worldly entertainment in its worship and continue watering down whatever might be left of a Bible-based message, the modern church will be powerless to stem the tide of runaway sin. In an effort to please listeners with pablum, it ties its own hands, Isaiah 30:10.
Paul, churchianity’s champion, is often said to teach a “law-less” New Testament as well. Paul explains the truth of the matter, however, in Acts 24:14, “But this I confess unto you, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the Elohim of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets.” “Law and prophets” means the Old Testament with its laws and teachers. Paul supports the Commandments in 1Corinthians 7:19, and even maintains that the law has dominion over a man so long as he lives, Romans 7:1.
Notice what he says in writing to the Romans about the roots of True Worship: “For I would not, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away unrighteousness from Jacob,” Romans 11:25-26.
He calls it a “mystery,” Greek musterion, which refers to a sacred secret that Yahweh intends to carry out for the purpose of His Kingdom. That secret rests on the duration of Israel’s blindness. To bring the gentiles into the promise, Yahweh sent a Deliverer from Zion not from Athens or Rome!
Notice that Paul does not say that Yahweh has a different plan for the church , which now replaces Israel. Rather, Yahweh has opened a way up for Gentiles to come into the covenant promise established with Israel. The New Covenant today is a takeoff of that first covenant with Israel. It is not a completely new plan applying exclusively to the “church.” It is an open covenant where others can join in salvation with His chosen. They must, however, still meet the conditions and standards of obedience just as in the first covenant.
Hebrews 8:7-13 clearly explains the main difference between the New as opposed to the Old Covenant, which in essence is putting His laws in our hearts and minds. Hebrews chapters 9 and 10 show that a change in priesthood and ritual means that the New Covenant is based on Yahshua as High Priest. His shed blood pays the penalty for sin, Hebrews 10:10. Animal blood under the Old Covenant served only to remind Israel of their sins, not remove those sins, Hebrews 10:3-4.
Being totally ignorant of this fundamental truth of sin in the covenants, people have the notion that all churchgoers are headed for a reward in heaven regardless of what they believe or how they behave. In contradiction, Paul said all are damned who don’t believe the Truth, but enjoy unrigh-teousness (sin), 2Thessalonians 2:12.
The fact is, the Kingdom is promised only to those who are of Israel or become a part thereof through partaking in the one promise offered to all in the New Covenant through faith and obedience. That is the substance of Paul’s message. The wild olive is grafted in, not replanted and grown in a separate plot, Romans 11:17, 24.
Do not be deceived into going down the broad way that leads to death. The way of Truth means adhering to the “faith once delivered,” Jude 3. Return to the roots!

Thank You, May Abba Yahweh and Yah'Shua Messiah bless your studies.
Churchianity's Grecianized WORSHIP.
One of the major barriers to understanding the correct teaching of Yahweh’s Word is the simple fact that the Western world looks at the Scriptures through Western eyes. In truth, the Bible is about Middle Eastern people and their Hebrew-centered beliefs in the Mighty One named Yahweh.
Because of doctrinal derailment by the Adversary, most churchgoers today don’t recognize the truth when it hits them squarely between the eyes. They have swallowed hook, line, and sinker so many falsehoods for so long that when the truth is presented to them it seems strange and unbelievable.
It started when the Roman church found Biblical truths rooted in a Hebrew faith distasteful. Anti-Semitism was strong. That the Roman church had a “Jewish” Messiah at its center was an inescapable fact that the church fathers avoided like a dark secret.
To distance itself from its Hebraic roots, the early church created a new “sabbath” day and called it Sunday the L-rd’s Day and with the justification that the Savior rose on Sunday. To reinforce this doctrine the church revamped another observance, the Hebraic Passover, into a Latinized-Grecianized Easter observance. Other Biblical holy days were replaced by pagan celebrations that came to be called “holidays.” And New Testament writings, mostly by a Hebrew named Shau’l (a name altered to the Grecianized “Paul”) were twisted to support a whole array of unscriptural doctrines and Greek philosophy of men like Plato.
Torn from their Israelite roots and joined to a European culture, the Apostles are made to look as if they wrote their epistles on the steps of Roman basilicas. The question becomes, is the Bible a Hebrew book, a Greek book, a Latin book or a hopeless mixture? And how is the Truth reflected?
Hebrew is the language of the oldest Old Testament manu-scripts. Greek is the preeminent language of the New Testament (though not the original New Testament lan-guage). Therefore, in the minds of many the Bible is a book with a first section reflecting Hebraic faith and a new section reflecting a Grecian set of beliefs and practices.
This has been the major belief for centuries, even though the New Testament was written by Hebrews about Hebrew people who spoke Hebrew and lived in an Israelite society. That the oldest New Testament manuscrips in existence are in Greek does not mean they were composed in Greek. Keep in mind that the oldest available manuscripts of the Old Testament were in Greek also, until even older Dead Sea Scrolls were found with their Old Testament text in Hebrew.
Implied in today’s majority teachings is that the New Testament included progressive Jews who were in the process of switching from their Israelite faith to Greek thinking and beliefs. In this supposed reform process they were giving up the Sabbath for Sunday, Passover for Easter, other Feasts for Xmas, and obedience to the law for grace and faith alone.
But this presents a huge problem. We find that the Sabbath is still in effect in the New Testament, along with the Feasts and the law. We find Shau’l himself teaching that the law is not made void but is established, Romans 3:31. Even if it is argued that the Feasts and law were on their way out, why do we find them in the prophecies of the coming millennial Kingdom still being followed and enforced? Read Isaiah 66, Ezekiel 45, Micah 4:2; Zechariah 14.
Yahweh made a covenant with Israel and Israel only. Other peoples and nations may join in that agreement called the New Covenant through a grafting in process. To do that they obey the same laws given to Israel and accept the other terms of the covenant. May YOU join with those who today are seeking Him through a pure and obedient heart.
